Newcomer Employment Mentorship Program (NEMP)
Program Backgrounder
The Newcomer Employment Mentorship Program (NEMP) intends to support the community and employment needs of Newcomers. It aims to help newcomers establish skills and social/professional networks that welcome and support their integration into communities and the labour market.
This program is a collaboration between the South Vancouver Neighbourhood House (SVNH) and the University of the Philippines Alumni Association in British Columbia (UPAABC).

Speakers' Profiles
Claris Canta is a Project Management Professional (CAP, PMP) with a Masters Degree in Energy Systems from the University of Melbourne. She is currently a Director designate at Student Energy. Her top subject matters of expertise are renewable energy, energy systems analysis, and resource mapping. She is also a licensed geologist. Ana Marie Benedicto is currently a Quality Assurance Analyst at Molson Coors Beverage Company, the Americas, Fraser Valley Brewery, BC. Her current roles include Molson’s global quality assurance systems and procedures across operational units in the Fraser Valley brewery, analytical, sensory and microbiological analysis of ingredients, in-process materials and finished goods using the appropriate equipment, methods and techniques. She also ensures compliance with WorkSafeBC as employee representative for the Joint Health and Safety Committee. CC Alcantara is an experienced AutoCAD Operator and Geodetic Engineering graduate with considerable years of experience and expertise in Land Surveying and Geographic Information Systems. She works as a Surveyor with concentrations on Design and Construction at Onoya Construction Surveys in Vancouer, BC. |
